Our Mission
Loadly explains how trucking and freight rules work, starting in the United States. Each guide starts from the regulation, statute or industry standard itself, says in plain language what it requires, and works the arithmetic through when numbers are involved. The aim is a reference you can check against its source, not a collection of opinions about freight.
What You Will Find Here
The guides cover the rules that govern drivers and vehicles (hours of service, CDL classes, roadside inspections, weight limits, cargo securement, insurance, hazmat placarding) and how freight is bought and sold (brokers and their bonds, carriers, load boards, LTL shipping, claims, factoring). Alongside them is a set of free calculators for density, axle weight, rate per mile, dimensional weight, fuel and detention. Everything is free to read and needs no sign-up.
What These Guides Are, and Are Not
Loadly is an independent publication run by one editor. The guides rely on primary sources, such as the text of a regulation, a statute or a published industry standard, and list them at the end. A figure is stated only when a source gives it, and a number invented to show how a calculation works is labelled as an example. Loadly does not test products and does not present general context as original research.
The content is general educational information, not legal, financial or compliance advice. Rules change and differ by State and country, so check the official source before acting on anything here.
